‘Roshan Pakistan’ unveiled in Dubai to empower diaspora contributions
New campaign links financial transfers with sustainable energy solutions
DUBAI – The Consul General of Pakistan in Dubai, Hussain Muhammad, has highlighted the crucial role played by overseas Pakistanis in supporting the country’s economy, describing them as a vital national asset.
His remarks came during the launch of Index Exchange’s awareness campaign, “Ab Ki Baar – Roshan Pakistan Ki Bahaar”, aimed at promoting formal remittance channels and renewable energy solutions.
Addressing attendees, the Consul General noted that remittances sent through legal avenues continue to strengthen Pakistan’s economic stability and contribute to long-term national development. He added that initiatives such as this campaign not only recognise the efforts of the diaspora but also encourage a shift towards a more self-reliant and sustainable future, particularly through the adoption of green energy.
Campaign focus
Humayun Murad, Executive Director of Index Exchange, said the organisation remains committed to delivering innovative financial services while supporting national progress. He described the campaign as a forward-looking initiative that aims to increase remittance inflows while promoting solar power as a practical response to Pakistan’s ongoing energy challenges.
Trade and Investment Counsellor Ali Zeb Khan highlighted the broader economic impact of such initiatives, noting that they help strengthen remittance flows while opening pathways for investment and sustainable development. He stressed that renewable energy projects, particularly solar solutions, are essential in addressing structural issues within Pakistan’s energy sector.
Energy push
Chief Operating Officer Syed Abdul Salam stated that the campaign extends beyond a promotional drive, reflecting a wider vision to empower customers with financial convenience while encouraging environmentally responsible choices. He emphasised that solar energy is increasingly becoming a necessity, positioning the initiative as timely and relevant.
Chief Business Officer Mir Ke Rasool added that each remittance represents more than a transaction, carrying stories of commitment and responsibility. Through this campaign, he said, those contributions are being channelled into a broader purpose, linking financial support for families with energy independence through solar installations.
Community participation
The event drew participation from members of the Pakistani community in Dubai, including Press Counsellor Saleh Muhammad, alongside community leaders and other distinguished guests.
As part of the initiative, customers sending money to Pakistan via Index Exchange will be entered into a raffle, offering an opportunity to install solar panels in their homes. The campaign aims to create tangible impact by connecting individual remittances with national progress and sustainable development goals.
The campaign carries a central message urging collective effort: “Jo Dil Hai, Jo Hai Jaan – Aao Karein Roshan Pakistan,” calling on overseas Pakistanis to contribute towards a brighter and energy-secure future.
